Did my first AutoX event today! Had a blast even though Ma Nature was doing
her thing.. The weather was supposed to be Sunny and in the high 50's, now
on the way to the track it was nice and sunny, not too cool out. Once at the
track the wind picked up(to the point that you had to lean into the wind to
keep from blowing away at times), the sky clouded up, the temp dropped to 34
degrees, and a fine stinging rain. The nice thing about Neon's is the
ability to set your heat at levels only seen on the surface of the sun, even
with the windows open. I rode with 3 different instuctors who where great to
work with(even when I got lost on the course)! All three of then kept asking
if I ever AutoX'ed before(unless you count driving an Ambulance for a living
for ten years). There were 3 Neon's(a GenI 4-door Highline, an R/T and my
2k1 ES), alot of Honda S2000's and Civic's( a few real V-Tec's), a couple of
ITR's, several RX-7's, a bunch of MR2's a new Subbie WRX (a car to be
reckoned with because they are quick!). But I've found a new sport, had a
blast, and now it's time to max out the credit cards...
