That is correct. 2nd gear is actually one of 2 gears, and the TCM
(Transmission Control Module) decides which to use based upon the
current conditions (speed, throttle position, braking, etc.).
As far as I know, this transmission is only used currently with the 4.7L
engine.
Unfortunately, you won't see your tranny going 1-2a-2b-3-OD, which is
what you'd need to have a "real" 5-speed.
