You have a vacuum leak somewhere? (Doubt it...but doesn't hurt to
dbl-check.)

It may very well be the IAC port making that "sucking" noise.

Subject: DML: have some ques...

I'm currently running a V8 TB on the V6. At idle, when I hit the gas and
before if revs up I hear a big huge sucking noise coming from the
intake. It takes a little less than a second for the engine to start
revving up (after the throttle is hit and the big whoosh is heard). I
think revving up should be instantaneous, or pretty close too it. Seems
there's lots of lag to it. What do you think it is? Turbulence? Anyone
have any ideas? I'm thinking somethings wrong with the injectors,
something with vacuum, or some sensor has gone to poop. I wouldn't mind
the noise but I don't like the lag that seems to go with it. Don't
remember having the problem with the V6 TB, but it's been awhile.

The mods that are done to the engine, if it'd help, are: Quick D intake,
MSD 6AL, Autolite 3923's (of couse!), Taylor wires, V8 TB, brass cap and
rotor

Thanks much,
Chris Hannon

PS - if anyone's interested, The 360 work has been put on hold. Not sure
what I want to do with it (run how it is, get it rebuilt, bore and
stroke it, blower, nitrous...too many options). I'm hoping to have it
complete by the end of summer, if I can make up my mind.
