I don't think that's what they meant. Basically when your battery doesn't
get charged enough the PCM shuts down components including itself because
these components require a certain amount of volts to operate correctly.
This includes your fuel injectors. The dealer, by replacing the battery
corrected the problem. When the dealer replaced the battery he reset the
PCM (computer) at the same time. There is no programming to enable the
running of underdrive pulleys. You may continue to cook batteries by doing
this.
