I'm guessing that the FMS injectors have different flow characteristics
especially at low rpms. The spray end of the stock injectors appear to be of
the disc variety whereas the FMS injectors look like they might be the other
(pintle?) variety. If this is so - it would explain the behavior. Our trucks
need those finer atomization capabilities at low rpms for the torque benefits
they provide - at a sacrifice of high-rpm flow capability. This is totally
speculation on my part as I haven't done actual injector flow bench testing
(setting that up now 8). If this assumption were true - a little black box
that would provide extra flow via a few more injectors would allow the best of
both worlds.
