Subject: DML: Brass cap & rotor in!

Hey DML!

Isn't Daylight Savings Time great? Got home from work @ 4:30, raked leaves,
read 5 DML digests, talked to the GF & she told me that she wasn't coming
over. 6:15 - WTF! Let's get under the DAKSY's hood! What bozo decided to put
the 3.9l distributor cap way the F**K back there?!??!! What a freakin
workout - just gettin to the hold down screws! Hadda climb right up on the
engine to get at it! I was flashin more butt-crack than the average plumber!
LOL!
But, anyway, about 45 minutes & one bloody knuckle later, the NAPA (Echlin)
brass cap & rotor are in! The OEM cap had a funky white powdery build up on
every terminal. No wonder she was idling rough - holding at a steady 650,
but kinda "rumbly." Ya know?
Now she's holding at a SSMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOTH 650 - 675! Took her out for about
a 5 mile loop around the lake & she's runnin great! One less mod in the
kitchen!
MSD 8.5 wires & the 3923s are next, as soon as I get to freakin POOP BOYS &
show them the incomplete plug they sold me...(*sheesh*).
Now I bow my head to the DML DAKSperts & ask a (silly) question or two:
1. I bought 8 wires so I'd have a couple of spares. Should I run one of the
extras from the coil (OEM) to the cap? (Bernd? Chuck R? Kyle?)
2. Am I gonna hafta get bigger looms/spreaders/brackets (or whatever they're
called) to keep the wires away from the engine or will the 8.5s fit into the
OEM thingies?

TIA!

Also, when I got home, sittin on the deck was a box from Transamerica Auto
Parts...The ProComp ES9000s with yellow boots (of course!) are here! One
more mod in the kitchen....Come on weekend!
