Welcome to the DML. No, trannies are not supposed to leak, period. Take
your tranny to a reputable specialist and get it done right. There probably
isn't an easy way to get your money back from the other guy but I sure
wouldn't bring the tranny back there. You're not going to be able to
replace seals from the outside. The way your rearview mirror works is
pretty normal. Don't know what else to tell you.

Subject: DML: transmission and reflections

hey all,
this is the first time I have been able to post (assuming that you are
reading this). Anyway I just got my 1994 dakota back from the tranny shop.
It is leaking ever so slightly, and only after it has been driven. Is this
normal for a rebuild NV3500 5 speed? It apears to be leaking from one of
the seals (soory I know next to nothing about trannies), if this isn't
normal is there anyway I can seal it up from the outside as the shop I took
it to isn't the best. Also at night when I look in the rearveiw mirror I am
getting a reflection from the headlights. If I move the selector switch to
night time then the back ground is to dark to see anything but headlights
behind me. So my question is is there any sort of ani reflection aplication
that can be
used. Sorry for such a long post. Thanks for any and all help.
