Hey Wes,
I'll let all the 4.7 folks rant and rave about their engine. You can get a
5.9 in a 4X4. It just has to be a quad cab. Maybe I'm just getting old but
I'll tell you what. I wouldn't give up my QC for anything. As a matter of
fact, it just ate a Sport Trac for dinner last night. It burped and spit
out the pit. I assume that was the Sport Trac engine. ;-P BAHAHAHA!

Subject: DML: 4.7l engine questions in new truck
Ok....
I've been out shopping for a new dakota.... and originally I wanted the 5.9
in a 4x4.... because the sales lady told me that was possible... upon
further researh, I find its not. Anyway, I am investigating the possibility
of getting a 4.7 with manual transmission, and 4x4 rc sport. I just got a
couple quick questions for ya guys who have a 4.7l.
1) When I test drove a cc, w/ 4.7l I was supprised... the engine was
remarkably quick. Has everyone who has had the 4.7 been satisfied with it? I
have a v6 now, and it just doesnt cut it.
1&1/2) Anyone had problems wiht the 4.7 in all there experience?
2) It seems like there is a lack of performance parts for the 4.7l... is
this going to change?
3) exaust exaust exaust..... if I DO purchase this truck... I want it to be
as loud as I can possibly get it.... resonance isnt bad at all to me... just
so long as I dont lose TOO much low-end.
I appreciated the efforts ahead of time...
Wes
