Aaron.

That's brake dust, especially bad on the front because that's what stops
most of the car plus it's brake pads from discs which are more open. If
they're special alloy make sure you keep them clean because brake dust is
very corrosive and will pit them up.

My mom has Momo wheels on her Passat, I believe they are either the painted
or brushed chrome. The front ones collect dirt like mad, now I understand
that naturally the front collects more because they turn but this is crazy,
almost like some kind of armorall got on them and makes them sticky, but I
can't tell. Has anyoune had this problem with their wheels and solved it.
