My 98 steers fine with no shaking of the steering. I however do notice that
when I go over a rough area or a pot hole at highway speed I need to apply
some steering correction. The bump would cause the tracking of my front
wheels to change. Is this what they call "bump steer"?

When you hit large bumps or potholes, does the front of the truck seem to be
looser and drift?

Nope....I just have a steering wheel shake when I drive on the
highway...even though i had the tires balanced twice and the front end
aligned??
Whether it's my imagination or not...it "seems" that my truck is "looser"
with respect to steering than it used to be.
I just got it back from the shop, so I'd hate to bring it to the dealer for
a day so they can tell me they found nothing.
