Boog,
Get them to check the axles. Sounds like they have a slight bend or twist
in them. You definetly have a problem with the rear drive components or the
housing alignment.

Subject: DML: Rear brake problem

Ok, I have had a problem with my rear drums warping for some time now. Back
in Jan. 2000, my E-brake froze since my truck was stuck in a snow drift. I
used 4lo to get out of it. The rear of the truck hopped quite a bit, but I
got it out and up the hill to the main road. When I got to work, I noticed
a burning plastic smell. I threw some snow on the drums and steam
everywhere. Took it to the dealer, both backing plates on the rear drums
were damaged. So the dealer replaced everything under warranty. Since then
I have had three sets of drums and shoes put on the truck and they still
warp within a thousand miles.
I wanted to make sure it was the rear brakes, so I drove it, pulled the
e-brake release and braked with the e-brake pedal. The "hop" was there. It
is definentely in the rear.
I even turned the drums and replaced the shoes myself and it still does
"hops" when braking.

The dealer only wants to replace the drums and shoes. There is something
else wrong causing this, but they say nothing else could be wrong. I dont
believe it.
Any Ideas, experiences? Im ready to buy a Chevy. This sucks!
