Hi Aaron,

Someone already pointed out most of the basics in another email. Fiberglass
is not too difficult to work with because you can always sand down any
mistakes (unlike carbon fiber). Some of the best prices I have found on the
web for fiberglass stuff is at:
http://www.fibreglast.com/
They have online ordering etc. Click on the "Info Center" link for various
how to articles on fiberglass.

Another good site for how to articles is CST Sales website at:
http://www.cstsales.com/articles_for_model_builders.htm

I actually just finished a carbon fiber heat shield for my homemade air
intake. The first prototype I made was out of fiberglass due to its low
cost. I actually layed up the fiberglass and vacuum bagged it, but it is
not a necessary step. I mainly used the vacuum bag because I wanted to
practice the process for carbon fiber. Anyway, check it out at:

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, let me know.

Subject: DML: custom fiberglassing

I remember intense99dak talking about how he did custom fiberglass around
his
cup holders, I was wondering if anyone else did their own fiberglass work on
anything and could tell me what is involved, how hard and expensive it is
and
what not. thanks

Aaron
