When they installed mine they just bent it around the tire. I have about 4
to 6 inches clearance all the way around my spare. Anyplace that installs
this should do that without asking.

I have a Gibson split rear on my 98 4x2. The exit pipe on my driver side
makes contact with my spare. I just put a piece of angle iron between the
two to act as a heat sink. So far I have noticed no melting at the point of
contact. I think this problem only exist with the split rear system on the
4x2's. With the 4x4's, don't think you will be able to mount your spare
back under the truck with a split rear system.

If my spare melts??? How common is that with an aftermarket system?
