Problem has been recent, last month of the 2+ years I've had it. Why would I wire a relay for ground? I've done it for on power sources before (amps, exterior lights, air horns, etc) but never a ground...

And are you running the power to the battery? I have been thinking of running it to an accessory power while I am fiddling with it...
