Just curious but why do you run your engine while spraying the water. That

i usually spray down the engine with simple green and just spray it with the
hose. (not getting the alternator wet) and i usually have the engine
running when i do this...

it's just the dirt and grime are a real b!tch to get off of the underside of
the hood...
