>>I was thinking about lowering the front o my 2000 dak 4.7 QC with 2 or 3
inch lowering springs, not sure about the back yet. I was hoping someone
could give me a ride in there truck with lowering springs so i can see what
the ride is like<<
okay, so I don't live in Connecticut, but I can give you some insight about
dumpin' your dak and how it'll ride. When it comes to suspension, you get
what you pay for. My truck rides NICE. The ride is more firm than stock, and
less bouncy. It all comes down to the shocks you use and the springs you
use. I used a Western Chassis kit which uses Eibach Springs and Doetsch Tech
shocks and I wouldn't have it any other way. The rear is lowered with a
shackle/hanger setup. and the special valving in the DT shocks out back make
it ride a lot smoother, in the front it's stiffer but not harsh.
I know from talking to lots of people about different kits, and the WC kit
and Bell Tech kits seem to ride the best, while the Hotchkis handles like a
dream, but beats your arse.
On a related note, depending on how low you want to go will also determine
which kit you get. The Hotchkis is only a mild drop, and if you're like me,
$1200 for a 2" drop is wack =) The WC gives you the most drop for the money,
and nothing beats the sound of my frame scrapin' on a speed bump =)
so, some food for thought my man =)
