I relocated mine on my 98 V6 primarily for ease of access and to not have
oil running down the engine and arm while removing it. Been on since 99 and
no problems. Makes changing the oil less messy.

Subject: DML: small question..relocating oil filter

I went to a local car show on Monday and got a chance to eyeball a cuda with
the oil-filter situated at the front of the engine bay (I believe I may have
seen a Dak with a similar setup awhile back). It was obviously relocated.
Because the car was fitted for track racing I'm curious to know....is the
relocation of the oil filter for ease of acess only...or are there other
considerations....just curious??
