If you drive it really really hard, you should buy a go to a racing
transmission specialist and have them build it up.

Subject: DML: Tranny Problems again

It appears that I have tranny problems again, it's leaking oil and making a
strange sound when in reverse. The truck is a '95 5.2L, 4x4 with an auto
tranny. So, it's going to need to go to the dealer again. If they tell me
they need to replace or repair the tranny, is there anything I can do to
make this stronger? Maybe something like a shift kit or some other
performance mod will beef up the tranny? What exactly does a shift kit do,
make a more firm shift? I have an extended warranty that will hopefully
cover the cost of repairs and I would like to add additional strength to the
system with money out my own pocket (as long as it's not too much $$$). I
guess it all depends what the dealer finds as the problem and if they would
add my suggested mods (actually changes you guy would recommend) to the
tranny without causing problems with warranty. I would like to have the
tranny strong since the warranty will only last for one more year and I
don't want this to be a reoccurring problem. I want to be prepared when I
go into the dealer, since the repairs will be made at the time the truck is
brought in.
