That's one, but there's another smaller one that's metal. It's like a
washer with a tab on it and one of the diff. bolts holds it on.

The other day when I was under my truck changing rear shocks, I saw an
adhesive sticker wrapped around the axle shaft right near the passenger side
backing plate. It said "TRAC-LOK 3.55". Is this the tag everyone is
talking about? I know on the old GM cars of the late '60's and early '70's,
there was actually a metal tag which hung from the differential cover
indicating post-traction. Just curious...

 (inside). If all that fails crawl under the truck and read the tag on one

I don't have a tag on my differential. How do I tell what gears I have?
And
my axle looks weird, it is really narrow for some reason.
