TWICE IN ONE DAY!
Ok guys - I'm sorry! I don't want to get a reputation for being bad luck!!
But I had another (more dangerous) thing happen to me today after the
headlight incident.

Long time ago - I cheched the 4x4 and saw that the brake warning light was
on.. a fast check of my FSM told me there could be an error code stored. I
never got around to retriving it. Then I started taking the engine apart.
I removed the TB, alt, air pump, fan, radiator, power steering. So just the
heads, valve covers, water pump, and manifold was left on. well all the
wires and hoses and stuff were still there. so today.. I remembered that
error code.. I wanted to go get it... the battery in the 4x4 had been
removed beforhand and was dead now. sooo.. I positioned the Ford Explorer
nose to nose with the 4x4 (the Explorer is 2wd - its NOT mine but its in the
family!!)

I didnt use the 2wd dakota because the explorer was closer and easier. I
connected a set of jumper cables from the explorer battery (engine running)
to the battery cables (no battery) on the 4x4 - voila! power!.... but....
bec this is a premagger.. it doesnt have multi point fuel injection... and
that means when I removed the throttle body, the fuel lines were left there
hangin... the truck had the key in the ignition and the key was turned to
on... so when poer came on the fuel pump turned on and before I knew it I
had gasoline shooting out all over the place!!!!!

I killed the engine on the ford and disconnected the cables cutting the
poewr to the 4x4... but not before a good half liter or so of gas had gone
all over the street and the front of the 4x4!!

as the story ends, I capped the fuel lines and clamped them tight! it
turnsd out that I didnt get a fault code with the brakes and the warning
lights never came back on again. go figure!!
