Ed, ole buddy,
When they said, "Burn up the road", they didn't mean the Dak too! Thank God
it was only the fan, whew! I think you're going to need to take it to the
dealer and get the codes scanned, unless you know someone who has a scanner.
And as far as the smell, find someone near you who steam cleans engines and
get it steam cleaned.

Subject: DML: Dak On Fire!!!
I had a little fire under the hood of the Streak today, apparently the
auxillary fan motor took a crap and overheated, and started on fire. I
caught it in time, it was confined to the fan itself, so all it cost me
was my 44oz cup of Texas style sweet tea, grrrrr :(. I ended up pulling
the relay so the fan wouldn't come back on, but after I did that, the
check engine light came on. I'm pretty sure that it has something to do
with the fan. Am I correct?? How can I pull the code?? How can I get the
burnt electrical smell out of the inside??
Now, for something pretty interesting and funny. I was helping my
brother move some stuff today from Saugus to West Hills. We fit a fridge
and a 2 piece sectional sofa with all the cushions in the back of the
shorty QC bed. How?? We stood them all up on their sides, lol!! It was
like playing a Tetris game putting it all in!! The sofa was about 7'
high for 1 piece, and about 5' for the other, you should seen people's
reaction as we drove by, we pulled into K Mart to get some more rope,
these 2 young kids (like 8-ish) in a Durango that parked in front of me,
they walked by, looked up and went "Whoa, that's high!!" Others just
looked up and laughed as I told them how we got it all in. I love my
Dak, it's the perfect truck!!!!
