I just finished reading an article in 4Wheel and offroad about ignition
upgrades. Basically they compared 5 different systems by doing 6 pulls on
the dyno and taking the average. the baseline was an Accel 71000 that was
cuurently on the truck. they then compared Crane Fireball HI6R, Mallory Hy
Fire VIA, Holley Annihilator, and MSD 6 Off Road. The results for peak
power were: Crane (1), Baseline-Accel (2), Mallory (3), MSD (4), and Holley
(5). The article also gives out a bunch of tech stuff like jigawatts, rev
limiters and timing controls. Does anyone have any real world experience
with the Crane system? The way this article read, Crane was the way to go.
I was debating the Accel 300+ or the MSD 6 Off road but this has added to
the decision problem.
