Intake system, a good exhaust system, and a V8 throttle body will
definitely enhance the performance. Mileage is only affected by driving
style with these modifications.

Subject: DML: looking for more power for towing with my V6.....

I have a '98 Dakota SLT extende cab that I use as my everyday driver. I
put about 100miles a day on it going to client sites. I get decent
highway mileage. I've got 67,000 miles on it now and its been a good
truck, except for the manifold gasket on the right side. I've got to
replace now and Im probably looking at exhaust replacement soon.

A few times a year I go off to 4x4 events to the mountains with my other
truck and I flat tow it. Flat towing is a real pain in the tuckus
because you can't back up. Im looking into an aluminum trailer and
giving up the flat towing.

The V6 pulls fairly well on the flats but I would like to get more power
out of it on the hills when Im towing. I really hate the kickdown and
the 4500 rpm whine when I hit the hills.

Im looking for more power when I tow without sacrificing reliability and
gas mileage.

I've got $1000.00 to spend.. How and where should I be putting my $$ for
maximizing my power.
