That should be all you need to do. That's the way I've always tested
back-up lights, switch the key to run, if it's a manual tranny just put it
in reverse, an automatic, set the parking brake and put it in reverse (wow,
in typing that it sounds really backwards, setting the brake with an auto
but not a manual) then walk around the vehicle, and they light. If they
don't the bulbs/fuse/relay need replacing.
