New Dak to play with....

Well, my girlfriend just purchased a 2001 Dakota Sport, V6, auto, 2wd. She
originally wanted a small economy car, like a Honda, but I took her to the
local Dodge dealership and it was history from there....whew! Anyway, I've
been following the recent thread about lowering components for the GenIIIs
and was wondering if anyone knows why the aftermarket companies decided to
go from a drop spindle, like the GenIIs, to lowered A-arms. I talked with
a suspension specialist and was told that lowered A-arms almost act like
shorter springs, because of their affect on the upper control arm and,
thus, have camber issues, which can be compensated upon alignment, but
cause drivability (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) problems. Any input?
Thanks.

David
