Of course, I could just shut off the MIL using it, but any chance
I'd find the right functions to reset mileage and VIN myself in my OBDII
scan tool? Forgive me, but I just might have to RTFM!

Yup...that's correct. The dealer needs to "flash" the current mileage and
VIN
otherwise the MIL will stay lit.
