Today, while looking around at the Mopar show/race, I noticed at least one
2000 model 4.7L powered truck that had a 7000 rpm tach. My '00 came with a
6000 rpm tach, and my white face gauges are the same way. My truck was
produced the 1st or 2nd week of February, 2000. Could other 2000 owners
report to me what they have in their trucks? I'm trying to figure out what
options/production date would determine a 6K or 7K rpm tach. Oh yeah, there
was a 2K1 R/T there(Star Racing's ext cab w/ the flames) that had used a set
of pre-'01 white face gauges(the same ones I've got, apparently) in his
truck. I didn't think to look, but I'm pretty sure it showed only 6000 rpm.
I know that all the '01+ trucks have a 7K rpm tach, so his must be
mis-calibrated now. SO, please report back to me on what you have, as I'm
trying to figure this all out. Thanks,
