I have a set of the MP aluminum R/Ts that I am in the middle of building up
for my 408 project. FYI: the exhaust ports are shaped differently ( a bit
of a dog leg) and the heads use a 3/8 stud for the rockers as opposed to the
5/16 in the iron heads (you can use MP rollers if you purchase P5007645
conversion studs). Aluminum is soft, you mayl need to use spring cups to
avoid damaging the spring seats if you are using stiff springs and/or a high
lift cam. These are the issues you will run into at a MINIMUM. Also the
combustion chambers are smaller, this will not be a problem unless you are
using domed pistons. Additionally, if you plan on a max port job, the
pushrod holes will need to be sleeved.
Also use a good head gasket like a FelPro #1008.
