i think i remember seeing one in my buddy's supercharged thunderbird, so i
know they exist. but i also am not in the mood to spend $200 on one. maybe

Actually Autometer already makes some air intake gauges (single and 2
channel). The part numbers for the Phantom series are 5772 (single) and 5773
(2 channel). I asked Jeg's about the single channel some time ago and I
remember the price range was in the $175 - $250 range.
