Questions

Hey guys,
Got some questions.
My truck has always had a very firm 1-2 shift. Not neck-snapping, but
close. Everytime my dad drives the truck he comments that he thinks it
needs a tranny fluid/filter change "in the summer"
Do you guys think so?
If so, would it be safe to wait until summer?
I have to use ATF 7176+3, right?
What's a good filter? Wix?
Also, I have the OBD II, so the codes are checked by clicking the key three
times, just like in my dad's car, but there's a port next to my emergency
brake release. I originally thought it was for a trailer brake, because the
PO apparently pulled trailers (with the bumper, aargh!), but my dad's
mechanic told me it was an OBDII port. I don't mind it, but I notice it
alot because even though my truck's an automatic, I use the parking brake
alot, especially idling (I idle in neutral so the fluid still runs through
the tranny) and parking on hills (hate the "CLUNK" shifting out of park).
Thanks guys!
Later,
Jon
