You can definitely swap a 360 in place of a 318, lots of guys on this list
have, including myself. It's almost a direct motor swap with just a
vibration damper, same year 360 computer, and a 360 flywheel(5-speed) or 360
flexplate/TQ(auto). It's one of the easiest engine swaps I've ever done, so
go for it!!
