Guess thats a big no on the SRT and a good choice
on the QC. Welcome to the 5 speed family. BTW, a
Hurst shift kit is a great mod. ;)

Subject: DML: Onward And Upward - New Truck

I went down to the dealer today and ordered a new truck. Not only am I a DML
member, but I'll be a Dak owner too. Yes, I'm making a change from the Ram
to the Dak. First and foremost, I wanted a stick shift. The 4.7 is too
small for the weight of the Ram but works nicely in the Dak. I didn't want a
3/4 ton 360 with a stick and with all due respect to Diesel owners, they are
just not for me. Even the Dak quad cab gives me as much hauling capacity as
I'll ever need. So here it is.

2002 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4
4.7 V8
5 speed
3.92 gears, LSD
4-wheel anti-lock
High Back Bucket Seats
Dark Garnet Pearl Coat with gray interior
every other option except leather, bed liner, body side molding, sliding rear
window, and two-tone paint.

With the 7/100 powertrain and $1500 rebate, it was a good deal. I've never
ordered before, always bought off the lot. From what they tell me, it will
be about 6 weeks or so. Ordering works out from a payment perspective, by 6
weeks from now I should have the insurance sorted out from the fire so I can
work out payment details.
