Bikes owned loooong before dakotas (Japanese bikes have been reliable for
4 decades. Dakotas are a little new to this concept)

currently own Honda VTR1000F. This is why I don't have to worry about
making my dak faster. Anytime I want to do 10's in the quarter all I have
to do is press "start". Doesn't tow my boat worth a damn though
