RE: Bosch +4's on the 4.7

Depending on the motor.

Example: the 89-94 1.3ltr Swift GT (DOHC) has notch on two ends that
closely resembled the Dodge hemi design. The spark plug was set in the
middle and the owner required a ten-inch socket extention to reach the plug.
Using the the same configuration for the 4.7 semi-hemi design, I tried the
Bosch 4 Plus. (MY COMPUTER IS ON THE BLINK-ALL CAPS). AFTER THE FIRST 100
HUNDRED MILES THE BUTT DYNO REVEALED THAT IT DID LOSE SOME POWER. LOOKING
AT THE DESIGN OF THE PLUG AND THE TOP DOWN INITIAL SPARK COMBUSTION, IT
SHOULD BE THE PLUG OF CHOICE. THEN I TRIED THE BOSCH 2 PLUS AND SAME RESULT.

I HAD TO REVERT BACK TO THE OEM NGK COPPER-CORE VERSION AND FELT THE RESULTS
RETURN.

ON THE 4.7 DODGE, I NOTICED A CHANGE IN THE FIRST TWO HUNDRED MILES SINCE I
RESET THE COMPUTER. NEVER NO MISFIRE, ROUGH IDLE, OR THE PREVIOUS MENTIONED
LISTED PROBLEMS FOUND WITH THE PLUGS FOR 15K MILES.

LIKE JAY W, I WOULD EXPERIMENT TO FOUND THE PLUG OF CHOICE. SINCE IT
CLOSELY RESEMBLES A HEMI DESIGN THE MOST LIKELY PLUG SHOULD BE THE BOSCH
VERSION. THE EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE IS THE ADDED MSD OR CRANE DIS
MULTI-SPARK UNITS.

I am even experimenting with different coils, intake (carbon fiber), intake
filters, engine oils, and so forth.

I know it cost money but having that knowledge is beneficial for the next
project.

Steven

Just curious, which sparkplugs (brand) do you prefer?

Thanks
Jay
