TRUCK! You have a 4x4, are you talking about off road traction? Caltracs are
designed for high horsepower 2wd vehicles, they were designed to work on an
axle over spring setup for drag racing. Working properly, when the axle
tries to wrap up , it pushes the link forward which in turn pushes down on
the front of the leaf and locks the whole suspension into a four link setup
and moves the instant center forward and up, causing the rear tires to exert
more downward force. Caltracs will not overcome a lack of tire traction,
they make the whole rear suspension work smoother to keep a constant load on
the tires without re-breaking them loose. They work exactly a stated on my
truck. They must have been installed wrong (or wrong application, 4x4?) or
adjusted improperly on your truck.
