Hm, I believe it's less than 150 bucks, depending no your machine shop. But
150 sounds a tad on the "high" side.

Then you also have:
head work. as in valve seals, valve guides
decking a block
line boring the crank if it needs to be
polishing up the crankshaft
etc....
