Well, I opened my hood today to find that the air filter off my new homebrew
air intake had fallen partway off, I was aware it was sort of loose but after
no change in postion for two weeks and being the lazy man I am never did
anything to fix it. Unfortunately I have no idea how long it has been like
this, could be upwords of three weeks, since I opened my hood last, could
possibly have been off when I drove to the mountain on nasty roads and just
yesterday I got back from my 2 1/2hr each way easter trip. Which I only got
17mpg on, (all freeway) very strange considering I get 16mpg during my half
and half city/freeway driving which I do regularly. My questions are what
damage could I have sustained, should I have it checked even thought I can
feel and hear no difference in driving, and is the 17mpg thing related.
