I'd go for 3/8" in 25-250 inch pounds AND 25-250 foot pounds in 1/2"
drive. I have both and find I use them both just about equally. The in/lb in
a 3/8 drive is more versatile because it's smaller but remember 250 in/lbs is
only 21 ft/lbs.
I'm real lucky, I have an aircraft torque wrench that goes from 50 to 700
in/lbs
(4 to 58 ft/lbs.) and that covers most of the range I ever need, but you're
talking a couple of hundred bucks for that thing. Bill
