NO, NO, NO!! That is OLD information. Ford sold their controlling
interest in Cummins years ago. I'm not sure they own any stock in Cummins
anymore. It is interesting, though, that the Cummins 5.9 (the same one use
in Dodge trucks) is the upgrade option for Ford medium-duty trucks
(Powerstroke isn't strong enough for those trucks). The Powerstroke is a
light-duty diesel maxed out in its current form, whereas the Cummins is a
medium-duty engine that is (still) detuned for light-duty truck use.

I doubt Dodge will drop the Cummins completely - they know that most of
their diesel market is due to that engine and its reputation. OTOH, I
suspect DC will offer a Benz diesel option alongside the Cummins, probably
at a cheaper price.
