Accidentally deleted your message, but I have a 97 4 by also and went out
and measured and if I'm talking about the same thing you are mine is 9 7/8"
(including the rubber seal at the end of the drive shaft). From end to end
without the rubber seal that the drive shaft goes into we're looking at 9
1/8". We could be talking about different things here so email me for more
accurate advice on your question.
