When you go to the synthetic got with Mobil1 & a K&N filter. The 4.7L uses a
K&N # HP-2004, They aren't cheap ($9.95) but are a good oil filter. I order
mine from Summit Racing, I usually get 3 or 4 at a time to save on shipping.

I second your vote on the Mobil 1 oil but I had bad luck with the K&N oil
filters on my last truck. I used them for a few changes without a problem.
Then I had two in a row that leaked around the gasket. I installed a cheapo
NAPA filter and the leak went away. So, I've gone back to the Mobil 1 oil
filters.
