I have an issue with my MOPAR PCM, 1,2,and 3rd gears it hits the rev limiter around 6200 or so, where it should be.
However in 4th and 5th gear it hits the rev limiter at 5500rpm. The first time this was experineced was on a dyno in a 4th gear pull, it hit at 5500 twice. I also have done this on the street since in both 4th and 5th gears.(YES I HAVE HIT THE REV LIMITER IN 5TH GEAR, and I dont mean with the clutch in either)
Now I dont know if this matters, but the truck was a v6 at one time, BUT the PCM is for a 318 v8 for the correct year of the truck, I have no other problems with the PCM that I know of.
Sooooo why is the truck hitting the rev limiter in those gears so early. I had a friend with a similar truck see where his hit in 4th gear, and his went all the way to 6200rpm. But his truck was originally a 318.
