Sean,
Good deal only being on your second set of brakes on your '92. As bad as
the '96's on back are, it seems the new design on the '97's and up are
worse. I would be looking for aftermarket rotors too.

Mine has had an ever so slight warp from the factory gorilla that torqued
the wheels on, but it isn't enough to bother me with turning them yet.
Maybe when the next bearing re-pack comes due I'll have them turned, That
should just about pair up with replacing the shoes.
Rich

Hey Rich! Good point :) I use the pedal on the left and downshift -- only
2nd set of brakes on my '92!! However, my '01 is already starting the
shutter with warped rotors. Nice cost reduction DC!

You all are terrible on brakes! :'B I have 57Kmi on my '96 and still
running the original pads and shoes (rotors too of course). My secret? Use
the pedel on the right, not the one in the middle. (He-he-he!!!)

Anyone out there have a suggestion for better front rotors and pads.
I have a 98 SLT that is just shy of 30,000 miles and in need of a front
brake job.
The front end is grinding pretty bad.

I can get the plain Jane stuff at AutoZone, but didn't know if there was a
better replacement out there for our trucks.
If so, what are they and how do they perform related to stock.
Thanks.
