Ed,
I ran mine 12K without cleaning it and I didn't have any degradation in
performance or gas mileage. Yours may have been a lot dirtier than it looked.
Next time you hit the trail drive it a while after you've been 4 wheeling and
see if it goes to hell again. Then you'll know if it's a lot dirtier than it
looks. You may be surprised just how much dirt you are picking up. Bill
