It all depends of the previous restriction and the new application: meaning
the flow pattern.

The original CAT is crap compared to the added restriction of the main CAT.

However, the best I have seen is the Flowmaster DELTA flow design. Less
restricted and maintains the back pressure for low end and allows the high
flow when pedal is to the metal.

To reach the 208HP (or close), is do what I did: 1) 180 degree THERMOSTAT,
2) colder spark plugs and running Bosch 4s or 2s, 3) Add REDLINE to the
Radiator fluid, 4) Change the intake to the 'Z' tube, 4) added the Jet Stage
II chip, 4) beta truck for Bruce's 4 inch 68MM TB unit. The truck was dynode
at 208HP when the MPH limiter hit 97. I did not add the exhaust before this
or change out the muffler. This included the CA smog CATS.

You only loose backpressure when applying large exhaust system without
proper amount of exhaust.

The HO 4.7 uses the 3-inch exhaust pipes.

Yep - got the intake, t-stat and plugs scheduled for this weekend. Might go
with a Fastman TB in another couple weeks.

You mentioned headers - but then said i could goose it up to 20X (rwhp)
without doing an exhaust system. You mean not changing the muffler or cats?
I guess I am a little confused...

Will I have enough back pressure but still feel a performance boost by
adding a new muffler keeping the stock pipes?
