John, I'm not sure about the '96 but I have had mopars that disengage the AC
under WOT. Then you'll get warmer air until you lift. Can't really
explain the switching from dash to floor, but under WOT you won't have much,
if any vacuum.

BTW, did you get your center caps OK?
