I use the 87oct. I have it to be no help in MPG or power to run anything
higher. I have no ping to worry about. But I do run the 3923 plugs, 180
t-stat plus other stuff.

on that note ... what does everyone here run? The stock 4.7L recommends ONLY 87 octane from factory. Does higher octane really make any difference (unless of course you're running a blower and/or NOS and or higher compression)
