It's not one piece to begin with. I wouldn't worry about the roof as much
as I'd worry about everywhere that needs to be sealed. Check very
thoroughly (after the repair) to make sure water doesn't go anywhere it
isn't supposed to.

Thanks to all you guys who commented on the insurance
aspect of this. Here's the deal; healthy tree, dead
limb, not really that big. State Farm wants to see the
limb that fell so I think they will try and make his
homeowners pay it. But at any rate, it's getting
fixed.

Got an estimate this morning. They say they have to
replace the roof panel (this has got me a little
nervous). $1,800 to do it all. How tricky is a job
like this? I didn't have time to get all the details
this morning (will go back to find out more). What do
they do, cut the roof off and weld the new one on? Is
it spot welded like the rear bed fenders or is all one
piece? I feel like a member of the family is
scheduled for open heart surgery....
