e: Changing Spark Plugs -Why are there heat shields

Some engineer probably ran a heat test on the wires and found that there was
enough heat coming off the manifolds to cause the plug boots to deteriorate
within the first 150K miles. Either that, or he loves to hear people cuss
engineers on mailing lists like this one.
