RE: Towed again???? Attn: Bernd (what do you think?)

I have been following this thread from Jon's cement factory to now. Is it
possible you bottomed out in the pit and bent something? Crank damper and
pulley? That could have messed up the serpentine belts. If the crank
damper and/or pulley is messed up, could you also have hit the bottom of the
pan and somehow messed up the oil pump? That could explain loss of pressure
and possibly the reason for the overheating. Don't know about loss of oil.
Did you check front and rear main seals? Did you check for oil in the
coolant? ** This might be a Bernd problem **

Good luck! And when you get your new one I would advise against driving
through Jon's cement factory. There's already enough glue from the factory
to hold your truck together. ;-)

Subject: DML: Towed again????

Yup.
I once again got towed home...
It's starting to seem endless. ugh....
Anyway, HISTORY: engine trouble at Jon's followed by 2 weeks at the dealer,
fixed, engine sounds good.
Try to get home from Jon's, went through 2 pulleys, and 2 serpentine belts.
Up to this point, i've been towed 3 times, in the month of July.
(Remember, this is a 2000 truck...)
After all that, the engine has been running hot, haven't understood why.
This leads to towage no. 4 this past Saturday.
Pulled into a rest stop to get some drinks, get Check Engine light as i'm
slowing down, and the oil pressure gauge drops to 0 then back to middle,
then 0 and stays. I stop in the first parking spot, and shut her down.
Pop the hood, and check the oil level, the dipstick doesn't even feel wet...
  not a good sign...
Buy some oil, fill 'er up (about 3/4 acutally). Start her up, and engine
"sounds" ok, but i decide to have it towed home, just to be safe, instead of
being stranded on the highway, like the last time.
And, my skid plate looked a little wet, so i wasn't sure if i was leaking
oil or what...
As i'm waiting for the flat bed (over an hour getting to me) i turn the
engine over again, and look at my electric fan, that isn't spinning, even
though the engine is still quite hot.... Hmmm.... maybe that's why i've
been running hot, ya think??? geez...
So, get towed home, and on the flat bed, there were some drips of oil, very
little though, and over night, there wasn't any on the ground under the
truck.
It's a holiday weekend, everyone will be closed tomorrow, so i'll wait until
Tuesday and bring it to my dad's mechanic. I'll get him to check (and maybe
replace) the oil pump if that is the problem. And the fan, i'll look at
today with a buddy, we might be able to see where the problem lies with
that, if it is frozen, of a bad connection. Might ask the mechanic to look
at my thermostat too...

Anyways, figured everyone would like to share in my continuing saga. hehe
I'm hoping i can trade this lemon in soon, cause i only have 2 more free
trips that the auto vlub will tow me for this year of my membership. :)

Two words, figure it out.....
